Hardware comparison / GPU versus GPU
A100 SXM 80GB vs H100 SXM
Both have 80 GB per GPU, so memory capacity does not separate them. The H100 is the newer Hopper generation with higher memory bandwidth; whether that lowers your cost depends on how much faster your own workload runs, which this site does not benchmark.
Understand the hardware trade-offs before comparing provider configurations. This page compares GPU models, not cloud SKUs or availability.
What the hardware records show
- A100 SXM 80GB uses the Ampere architecture; H100 SXM uses Hopper.
- Both are SXM GPUs.
- Both have 80 GB of memory per GPU.
- H100 SXM has 1.6× the theoretical memory bandwidth (3,350 against 2,039 GB/s).

It does not by itself prove a lower monthly cost, higher tokens per second or a better result. Include model memory, context, batch size and measured performance in your decision.
